Answers to common myths of Aadhaar. One key fact that I find interesting is thus far Aadhaar has only spent $640 million since 2009. At about $1.08 per Aadhaar it is by far the lowest cost national ID of any system in the world. While being the lowest cost ID it is one of the most advanced not only in the biometric envelope that is created for each individual but also the usage of fused biometrics to assure uniqueness.
The failure rate of Aadhaar is .001% which is dramatically less then any other ID system. The system currently does over 600 trillion matches every day. In addition to all of this it is one of the few systems of this size that has come in considerably under budget and ahead of schedule.
Say what you will but Aadhaar is one of India’s finest modern achievements.
